Philosophy:
It's important to us that we design luxurious handbags on the outside that are, like none other on the inside, organized. The name Tantrum was developed in light of the Tantrums all of us have when searching for items in our handbags and not being able to find that exact item in a timely manner. Why buy half a bag? Wehen you can have both luxury and be organized with Tantrum Bags.
Back Story:
Ever since Jessica can remember, she dreamt about being a part of the fashion world.
When Jessica's twins were a year old, she was tired of carrying around her diaper bag and was ready to stop looking like a caricature of a mom, but a beautiful woman again! She wanted to wear a stylish leather handbag, like she did before she had kids. Jessica no longer needed the bulkiness of her diaper bag but still had a lot to carry around for both her twins and herself. She went searching for a leather handbag that was fashionable, but also had the utility of her diaper bag (ie: compartments, compartments, compartments). Surprisingly, after an exhausting and dissapointing hunt, nothing met these requirements.
After talking to other women, she discovered her quest for a stylish yet functional handbag, was a common problem among fashion conscious moms/women. It was then, when her children were 2 1/2 years old that she decided to pursue her love of fashion and create what is now the Tantrum Bag™: A handbag she needs for herself and at the same time, one other women are appreciating too.
Our Team:
Our vision was born with an army of 8 women on a mission to uncover which features would be in our "dream purse". Thank you all for your dedication to this grand pursuit! Four talented and experienced women emerged out of this army. Each of us has over 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, retail, and fashion when combined together, creates an unstoppable synergy for success. Our corporate offices are based in Scottsdale Arizona, where designs are developed. Samples are created in New York City and once perfected we warehouse and ship to our customers from Scottsdale.
Jessica Marriott, CEO:
She
is the driving force behind the company, leaving no stone unturned in her quest to make an exceptional product and company. From her New York fashion experience as an intern for Ralph Lauren in their executive offices to her retail experience (from selling St. John's Knits to working in Manhattan for Banana Republic), she has been inspired to design the business from the ground up. She has a BA from the University of Arizona in Tucson and now lives in Scottsdale with her husband and 2 children.
Kasey Villareal, CFO:
With an MBA in International Business, Kasey leads the way with our crucial day-to-day operations and financial projections. She holds a degree from UCSan Diego and an MBA in international trade. Kasey has used her training in the fields of both education and business during our conferences, dealings with investors and with our vendors. She lives in Texas with her husband and 3 kids.
Denise Bentley, Director of Marketing & Branding:
Denise's natural gifts and creativity allow her to interpret ideas and concepts brilliantly. Her work on the branding (from the name of the company to the names for the bags) and image creation (the scribble in Tantrum and the bubbles as our symbol) has been and continues to be invaluable. Along with this amazing creative talent, Denise has 8 plus years in sales in the pharmaceutical industry. She also prides herself in being able to juggle both work and family, because even as a child she was a great multi-tasker. She has a BA from University of New Mexico and lives in Arizona with her husband and twin girls.
Michelle Haston, Senior Consultant:
Michelle takes her 20 years of experience in all facets of sales, marketing and management to further enhance our goal of getting the Tantrum Bag into the hands of those who need it!
